Set-Up Instructions: Windows ME

The following instructions explain how to set-up Windows ME to dial and connect to Tellurian Networks.

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Dial-Up Networking.

  1. If this is the first time you have used Dial-Up Networking, the Welcome to Dial-Up Networking wizard is initiated. If the wizard does not start, double-click Make New Connection.

  1. Where it says "Type a name for the computer you are dialing," type Tellurian Networks

  2. Your modem should be displayed automatically in "Select a Device." If it is not, use the drop down arrow and select your modem from the list.

  1. Click Next >.

  2. For Telephone Number, enter the Tellurian Networks access number you have been given. Note - if you have to dial the area code to place local calls, enter the area code directy in front of the 7 digit number, NOT in the box labeled Area Code.

IMPORTANT! The phone number displayed below is an example only, please click here to find an access number that is a local non-toll number for you.

  1. Click the Next > button.

  2. Click the Finish button.

  1. Right-click the Tellurian Networks icon, and click Properties.

  1. Click the Networking tab.

  2. "Type of dial up server" should read PPP: Internet, Windows 2000/NT, Windows Me

  3. Uncheck all boxes EXCEPT "Enable software compression" and "TCP/IP."

  1. Click OK

  2. Right-click the Tellurian Networks icon and click Create Shortcut.

  1. When a window pops up stating that "Windows cannot create a shortcut here. Do you want the shortcut to be placed on your desktop instead?" Click Yes.

  1. Close Dial Up Networking.

You should now have an icon on your Windows ME desktop called "Shortcut to Tellurian Networks." To connect, simply double-click that icon, enter your username and password, and click Connect.
